Who is ready for Christmas? Is it bad if I said not me? In my fantasy world, the house is totally decked out and there is a big wreath hanging on the door. In reality, I have done exactly zero Christmas shopping and am contemplating not even putting up a tree this year. This looks bad for me, doesn’t it?
You see, we are going to be out of town spending the holidays with family. Since we haven’t gotten our tree yet, I feel we wouldn’t get to enjoy it for very long before we would have to leave. By the time we got back, the tree will be brown and dry and most of the needles will have fallen off. Not exactly, a festive scene to come home to. Besides, everyone we are visiting will have holiday decorations up and I always help decorate my parent’s tree. See? I am not a total scrooge. And to prove it I am bringing you a really festive holiday drink. This drink works really well in the summer too but since it has a nice Christmas color I thought I would share it in time for your holiday get together.
This hibiscus ginger tea spritzer is super easy to make. First, you brew some hibiscus tea with a little fresh ginger and sugar, then add some lemon juice. Then, when you are ready to serve, you just pour some tea into your glass and top it off with some sparkling water (credit goes to my mother-in-law for that genius idea).
For a party, make a double or triple batch of the tea, pour it into a pitcher or decorative bottles, set out some bottles of sparkling water and let your guests mix up their own glasses. Since it’s non-alcoholic, even the kids can get in the holiday spirit. Cheers!

My go to thanksgiving drink, it’s always a hit. Very easy to make, just make sure that you give it enough time to cool before serving.

Definitely a Thanksgiving family favorite for us! Plus you can make it days ahead of time and have one less thing to do on the big day.

What a delicious and refreshing spritzer! I have some hibiscus growing in my garden too (part of the many blessings of living in a tropical climate), maybe I can add it to this drink?

I think your hibiscus flowers would make a beautiful garnish as long they have not been sprayed with any chemicals. I have never tried making my own tea from flowers. Let me know if you try it – I would love to know how it turns out.
